An unexpected catch!

While we were trying to trap the kittens recently discovered in a roof, we had a bit of a surprise… When the trap closed, it wasn’t a kitten inside, but this big handsome chap!

Thinking it might be the kittens’ mum, the homeowners called us to come and collect her. But as soon as we arrived, it was pretty obvious that this “mum” was actually… a big handsome boy!

He wasn’t microchipped or neutered, and after asking around the neighbourhood, nobody recognised or claimed him, so we decided to take Jeff under our wing.

And what a lovely discovery! Behind his big tomcat appearance is an absolutely lovely boy, friendly, sociable and affectionate.

Unfortunately, his veterinary check-up brought us some less welcome news: Jeff tested positive for FIV.

Yet another one this year… Jeff is now the 5th FIV+ cat currently waiting for adoption at our centre in Sauveterre-la-Lémance.

But being FIV+ certainly doesn’t mean that Jeff can’t live a long and happy life. Just like all the others, he deserves to finally experience the comfort of a home and a family who will love him exactly as he is.

So perhaps the trap Jeff wandered into completely by chance actually led him exactly where he needed to be… onto the path towards his forever family.
